Phones

Post by c3rbera »

I desperately need a new phone...happens about twice a year that I go and look at them, then don't actually buy anything. :|
But yeah mine is just about dead so I'm keen. Thinking of just buying outright off Kogan for the low, low prices.

I know there's no huge differences in any of them but for conversation's sake,
Who's got what.
What's a POS.
What do you swear by (if you say iPhone you can get out).

Commence. :)

I bought the Galaxy Note 3 a couple weeks ago and love it.

Might be a bit too big depending on your preference. In which case I would recommend the Galaxy S4

Steve Jobs's hope that there might be an afterlife led him to avoid putting simple "on/off" switches on Apple's best-known devices, his biographer has disclosed."

I have a Microsoft Lumia 920, its not too bad. Bit different from the norm as it is Windows Phone, major apps are starting to filter through the Microsoft Store which is a plus.

There is newer models coming out as well with fantastic cameras.

Only regrets I have is adopting the Windows OS so early and having to wait practically for a year to apps to come onto the Market.

Having said all that I dont mind the iPhone 5 with iOS 7.02 it has a quite crisp fluid interface and tonnes of apps to choose from.

If you are after a phone that your not going to "regret" so to speak your safest choice is with an iPhone, even though it is the "commodore" of phones.

I think my brother is going to be picking up a Google Nexus 5 soon. He's the type who gets excited about how smoothly the animation moves.

Those app problems, would drive me up the wall! Pretty cool to hear the Lumia is actually good though.

Commodore...but you never really hear about them failing you know? Except maybe the screen but still, I guess it's not an iPhone until the screen cracks.

Ahh..so that's Snapdragon 800 as well. Would be a beast. Speaking of which, I think I just found the phone I want lol. Spec seems similar too.

Galaxy S4 mini. Great size, does everything I need & then some, only complaint is that it's a bit fragile compared to my previous one (Sony Xperia which you could get wet & drop etc)

Yes iPhone 5 do have failures, I deployed 150 at work and I've had about 10 back from a problem of a random reboot to a total hardware failure. You don't hear about it as they have a good hardware returns policy.

Xperia S, which I absolutely love. Camera is amazing. This is now the 3rd Sony phone that I have owned and I'm yet to find fault with them.

I will be upgrading to the Xperia Z when I've got the cash (I buy mine outright).
