When I say cramped, it's mostly because of the mandrel bent intake and intercooler piping.. It's very well made, and very effective flow wise, but it takes up a hell of a lot of space and makes getting to that side of the engine a nightmare.

Soft excuses is right, but here's another.. Car is a long way away and I need to cycle there and any time I need to work on it, also parts shops are a long ways away and I can't be arsed wasting that much time lol

Update (potentially)

Two sparkies and a mechanic are adament after speaking to me that the issue is with the ignition tumbler

Questions;
1, are all FTO ignition tumblers the same?
2, is there anything I need to know to remove it? My car doesn't have air bags. Anyone done it?

Further checking has confirmed that the earth cables I can get to are fine.. Assuming that I can trust the multi meter that is..

Also, we don't have transponder keys do we? My car didn't have keyless entry prior to the alarm install

Thank god for that! Any idea how to get the tumbler out? Is it as simple as other Mitsubishi? I'm assuming it is

From memory it's pretty simple.

I think ya heading in the wrong direction. When it doesn't start check to see if the starter is getting power then go from there.

Yeah, wrong direction lol..

I'm now leaning towards the inhibitor switch because I've always had problems with it

Question.. If connect up a rudimentary switch between the starter solenoid and the battery, will this bypass everything else and potentially start the car? Assuming the ignition is on of course..

Bypass the solenoid is what i mean.. But yeah, weeks like to completely isolate the ignition system, it does have an immobilizer after all

Thoughts on supplying power directly to the solenoid? The starter is definitely getting power. So sure it's the inhibitor switch :S

F'n stupid car!

Wouldn't it be easier to remove the inhibitor and restore the wiring back to factory?

Care to explain what you mean?

Ignition wiring is factory. Inhibitor is factory. I haven't bypassed anything yet. I'm not near my car, hence I'm trying to find options to try get the damned thing moving. The bypassing of the solenoid is to start it so I don't need to tow the bastard from where it is.

In fact.. any ideas of how to bypass the inhibitor switch? I don't see external wiring in the vicinity, but thinking about it, surely there is a way to add a switch to that system..

These ones are usually pretty easy to solve, what are your symptoms? Got reds on the dash? Any clicking when you turn the key? etc.

It's looking like it's the brushes in the starter motor, replacing them today and will go from there.
