Nah, it's the people that aren't nice. The actual place is better than being on the street. And tax payer funded to boot!

The world's a messed up thing.

It is the driving whilst suspended that will do it.

You don't realise that if an accident occurs, you have no insurance. So if u cause damage to something, you will have to pay .... Personally..

Worse if you injur or kill someone.. You are liable for their compensation. No insurance means you will be up for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Millions if you turn them into a para or quadraplegic. So as the guilty party, u cry poor, maybe serve some time, and the real victim gets nothing..

So I don't really see the humerous side. U broke the law on several occasions, and I dare say u will probably get community service..

Yep that's that one. And it's not suspended, was disqualified by a judge 2weeks ago. "and Mr McEvoy if I see you come back here for driving whilst disqualified you will going jail, is that clear?" "Yes your honor" ....
& community service not an option apparently.

Hypothetical, if you actually caused an accident.. That is why they are so harsh, and send people to jail...

You never know your luck. Back in early 2000, my mate was caught about 5 times driving whilst disqualified. Went to court a couple of times, and the last time we were packing it for him. The judge assigned to him had sent a single mother to periodic detention (no one to look after her 16 year old) for a minor case, and my mate was up next.

His solicitor (our friend) was getting prepared to go down to the cells beneath the court house, as we were sure my mate was going away. Not sure why, but the judge was happy to let him complete community service (something like 200 hours) a 12 month good behavior bond, and let the disqualification period as Feb 2016. So very lucky.

On the day, it just depends on your references, how you look in court, and how you carry yourself.

Wut'd I do?

Yeah, Craig, I get that part. But my point is, that dropping a set of 11s and sitting 10km/h above the speed limit is the biggest deal ever. Everyone freaks out about breaking stupid laws like that, it's f**king retarded. There are so many more dangerous things than driving unlicensed (I understand that insurance is void, but it doesn't all of a sudden make you a sh*t driver) like people who are horrible drivers, drink driving, people who don't pay attention etc. Those are the people who are more likely to kill someone. Not someone who modifies their car to improve performance and understands performance capabilities etc. as opposed to some stupid soccer mum on the phone with bald tyres and no brake pads.

Like I said, I get that insurance is void, and yes that is bad, no I wouldn't ever drive unlicensed. I would much rather someone who is a good driver (not always necessarily law abiding) with no license driving around than someone who is a fking sh*t driver who is licensed. Who here is more likely to kill someone? Regardless of any insurance payouts, I'm simply talking safety factor. My pop has a restricted license now, literally only because he is old. He is a better driver than 90% of the people on the road, yet has a limited radius from home that he is allowed to drive in.. while there are absolute spastics who somehow manage to get their license and continuously cause dangerous scenarios on the road simply from being uneducated and not being interested or focused on driving.

Either way, f**k the system, and f**k the dumb sh*ts who keep lowering speed limits and making bullshit hooning laws (because that sh*t doesn't work), road laws are just getting absolutely ridiculous to a point where driving is becoming a chore, not enjoyable. Left some rubber on the road.. big deal. Helps improve grip going over it anyway

I get driving unlicensed and uninsured is very bad, but there's much worse sh*t happening on the roads than doing a burnout..
