Fuel Economy

How can you improve your fuel economy? Also when I drive my car for around 30 minutes get out and turn it off I get this weird burning smell coming from the engine bay. Any ideas what this could mean?

You are burning the coolant that is leaking.

Could also be oil dripping onto the hot exhaust manifold.
