Valve tap only when warm

hey guys my engine only has valve tap once it has warmed up, when i start the engine and its colds its perfectly quiet. GPX mivec anyone else had this problem

You need to adjust your tappets and/or change your oil.

Is it dirty oil or the grade of oil that would cause the noise?

Either/both.
Mitsubishi suggest using 10W30 engine oil.
Most of us here use Castrol Edge 5W30 synthetic.
If you use 10W40 the oil can be a bit thick to deal with the complexity of the Mivec engine, there is so much going on in the top of the engine.

A lot of us here have also had to adjust out tappets to get them quiter.
