FTOcrazy273's new ride!

Post by FTOcrazy273 »

Hey all,

So today I managed to get a 5 speed 1997 Mitsubishi FTO GPX with 200,000 on the clock for dirt cheap!
New clutch and gear box, timing belt done 20,000 K's ago. All seems to be great!

Features are:
GPvR Spoiler/Wing
HID highlights
Alloy Rims
Touch screen head unit
Apexi sports exhaust think it could possibly be an N1 (will upload video)
Alarm system with central locking
Adjustable coil over suspension brand is BC Racing

Will upload photos now.

What's the chassis number? It looks like it's not a 1997 as from 1996 onwards they came with a momo airbag wheel, it's also a pre-facelift (although Stuart's was purchased like that even though his is a genuine GPvR).

+ climate control unit is auto. Pretty much guarantee it's a 94 / 95, but that may not bother you :)

Looks pre-facelift to me. Could be early 1997 though.

Climate control has nothing to do with anything. Only different climate control was in the Version R which was manual.
I fix cars.

On the mitsubishi plate it says 1997 I'll go outside now and grab the chassis number!

Definitely a 1997 model on the compliance import plate it says it is. The number is DE3A - 0103395

It's a 96 model which explains the pre-facelift. I believe the airbag was optional on 96 cars as well?

Airbag was an optional extra on all models as far as I know. GR Sport variants had them standard, and so did all facelift models.
I fix cars.

They weren't on the 94 and 95 models, it was only the 96 models that it was optional and facelift models that they were standard. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Pretty sure facelift was standard airbag.. Never seen one without it. The optional airbag on facelift was passenger..

Bobby had that.. :'(
I just had to add it ......
