Engine swap

The low km engine I bought from Dstocks is going in the FTO within the next month. Mainly because I've got the time on my hands on weekends (without a license ).. The current one still runs fkn tough as nails, but has a few decent oil leaks, and has just clocked over 370 000kms. It's gotta die soon surely :? I literally used to valve bounce everyday allday.....
No doubt I'll have a few questions throughout the swap
Here's a couple to start off with:
Can I rip the current one out with the gearbox attached, pull gearbox off once out, attach to new engine then install back into the car??
Annnd
What should I do to this engine whilst it's currently out? Should all the oil seals etc be done now even know it has low kms, but has been sitting in sheds for a good while?
What else?

Cheers.

Drop engine and box out the bottom then raise car up, drag them out. Can do two at once, we put my engine and box in together through the top with a crane.

Do as many things as you can afford while it's out, much much easier with it on a stand.

Also, you dont know when the timing belt was last done (neither do I).With 105K on the clock its possible its never been done.

I'd swap as much over from the old engine that is still good onto the new one while you're at it. Make a good looking motor from two average ones.

Dropping the enging out the bottom is easiest, but through the top can be done. Either way, everything (and i mean everything) has to come out.
