car randomly does and wont start

Post by adzski »

Hey Guys,

The car is a barina not a fto, just thought i give a heads up.

anyway, the car will randomly die while driving and wont start back up, it cranks but wont turn over.
After 1-2 hours it will start, but drive a short distance and it will happen all over again!

anyone have an idea what it could be? i thought perhaps it could be the fuel pump.
also on a hot day it wont start at all it will crank but that's as far as it gets.

i haven't got around to testing anything yet, thought id ask to see if someone could put me in the right direction

thanks for any reply's.

Cheers

My current Fto (project and it's a pain in the Ass of a thing) does similar... In an Fto, well mine, it is fault 23. Which is cam sharft, or the sensor for it. Yet to change it out to completely make sure, but before that it was a faulty starter motor. but the car will start, put it into drive (auto) then will stall, and not start again, until it cools down heaps about 24 hours later.. which is a huge pain in the Ass as most of the time it decide to stop in the middle of my drive way.. -.-

Is this car injected?
If yes, then check your knock sensor and/or you air intake sensor(MAF)!

Better still get codes and search google for code listings.
