Computer Error

My cars still at the mec's turns out my brand new alternator has failed (regulator) as we were investigating hooked the computer up and got an engine diagnostic code for
"Fuel pump circuit or control relay" that code was wiped and it re appeared when the rest was re done. and it was number 42 i think..
Any ideas what this could mean, he says the fuel pump is connected and working fine (after new engine has been put in) just dont want any other issues arising when i leave the shop.
