Fuses Keep Blowing

Post by ObsidianRadio »

Fuses 1 and 4 in the engine bay fuse box (tail lights and gauge cluster lights) keep blowing. I replaced the fuses and they blew moments after turning them on. This happened twice in a row.

Has anybody faced similar issues in the past and if so; what's a likely cause of this? Looking to rectify this ASAP.

Cheers!
Jack

Probs a pinched wire when reinstalling the tail lights
And maybe also the case when reinstalling the gauge cluster
And may have a faulty dinner blowing both fuses

In my case it was pinching the tail-light wiring.

I find this strange as I haven't taken the lights out of this one since September when I sprayed it... Would it also be causing the gauge cluster fuse to blow?

When it took out my tail lights it also took out my gauge lights.
Could also be a pinched wire somewhere else, as it's quite a long harness from the front to the rear of the car.

One way of looking at it is, what have you done to the car recently?

Yeah sounds like pinched wire. Obviously short circuiting somewhere. Check all the wires that are related to it for shorts/cuts/etc.

This is going to take forever :( Hahahaha

I'll f**k around in the boot for a while and just see if any of the cargo back there or the sub box hasn't pinched anything.

Stop runnin' too much NOS!

You're lucky that 200 shot of nitrous didn't blow the lid off your fuse box!

You probably pinched the tail light wires after your respray.
They have just now worn through the insulation to cause a short to chassis.
Take out you tail lights and check, it will only take 10 mins.
