Hey guys. Im looking to purchase an FTO asap. not really fussed on model /colour/year ... would idealy like an auto but thats not big deal either. I do need it registered, driving well, in fairly good nick, well serviced and generally well looked after. This will be my second car as my primarty car is a new Mini Clubman S and its a shitbox and lives in the MINI/BMW service centre almost more than in my garage. ideally looking to buy as mentioned ASAP. In south australia, rough price guide $2000-$4000 ... hopefully hook me up guys (sorry if i post this in the wrong section)

Yep, hopefully you will find a good one soon. Gumtree is worth a look. Welcome aboard.

Gumtree has heaps of autos (that's all in fact), everywhere else I've looked doesn't have any in SA. It's a small market! Member BJK will be selling his soon I think, that's auto (he's here in Adelaide). Welcome, I'm in Adelaide and looking too but I'm after manual.

Thanks for welcome guys. Gumtree is coming up blank sadly. All that is up on gumtree is one in reg car, one qld reg car with a bad gearbox and one gPx that's not going and hasn't been started in 4 years. Needing something that can drive the second I buy it. I'll keep my eyes peeled though.

You musn't be searching right, unless you're searching with really tight parameters... here:

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-cars-vans-u ... 20l3008842 - SA ones.

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-cars-vans-utes/fto/k0c18320 - Oz-wide ones.

Yes but those cars don't drive or are not registered. Refer to my previous topic. Plus the $2200 one is actually sold. Plus there is 2 wrecking fto's in that bunch. I've searched every where and nothing.

As Ezzat mentioned, mine will be for sale in a few weeks (hopefully). Just a few things to finish up with my new FTO. I do have someone who expressed interest when I told them I'd be selling it in future, but this was a couple months ago. I will approach them first as a courtesy but will definitely inform you also when it is ready for sale should you not have purchased another already.

Well you didn't say none of those were suitable you just said you couldn't find any :P

Whats wrong with this one?

I thought Id found one today but this roof rust thing is actually majorly putting me off the cars. Such a massive job to fix if you get it/car has it, like the one I was looking at does.

They arent as common, but post 97 models do not have the roof rust issue. They changed the glue that causes the issue about half way through 97.

That car in woodville is unreg and I have already made contact with the owner and he has been a bit shifty. It's been un reg for 6 months and I don't want a head case in terms of getting it through reg. as I said, my car is out of action and need something I can get In and go.

I'd be happy to chat re: FTO for sale in a month if the other guys aren't keen. What else needs doing to it? Can it drive? Is it reg? Can I buy it today? Haha. Through a dog a bone!

Unfortunately does have the roof rust, which obviously isn't ideal but depending on how long you're looking to keep the car, I don't think the roof will fall on your head any time soon. Drives and was registered late last month. Might need a new stepper motor as it doesn't always cold start first time, but runs no issues. General sort of wear and tear, and been in two minor front enders that were both professionally repaired under my insurance. Usual suspects for failure replaced while I've owned it (alternator, starter motor, battery)

You could have it sooner but Jack (ObsidianRadio) wants the front bar on it.

Jack can chill. He's a good mate of my partner. I've even got him on the hunt for me. Jack, do a deal. You can have the front bar off me whenever. I just need a car damnit. Can I buy it tmr haha?

I've just a couple things to sort if Jack's up for that. Silver car will come with stock wheels (cheap tyres, but basically new!), so once I've swapped all my wheels between the two cars it'll be basically ready.

I'll see if I can catch the other guy who wanted it ASAP, he works at a BP near my woolies, so I'll drop by there tonight and see if he's around and the bidding war can commence lol

Being in Outbox means the other party has not read them yet.

Once they are read they will go to sent.
