Would it make sense for it to fall and then rise to 0 once the car is started? Weird that it happened after changing the cluster lights o-o

Soooon enough, hoping to find coilovers at some point but other things take priority for now i.e. getting it on the road. Uni is almost over now so got heaps more time on my hands :D

Since you played with the cluster, I would have a look at the connections to the cluster first.

Car is getting the panel work done next weekend! Managed to find a dude who works at one and is happy to do it across 2 weekends for a great price.

Picked up some leather seats from a wrecker today, sadly the drivers was completely screwed and beyond repair. Plan is to swap it out for recaros or something at one point maybe? Also scored a prefacelift badge by combining 2 I found on the ground! Found a veilside wing at a another wrecker which the panel beater is doing as part of the cost, keen to see it on the car.

I have my last exam on Wed and the garage to myself for 2 weeks so hopefully I can get everything done and have her on the road asap :D

Took off the interior panel and here is what I found:

Where bandaid sticker is:

Large lower crack:

Cuts in frame:

Thankfully no rust underneath and the damage doesn't look toooo bad, panel beater reckons it is better than expected which is good. Unsure about why the frame was cut and welded so poorly though, wtf.

New seatbelts are in, replaced the dash globes that were missing; SRS and exhaust light are now constantly on. Center muffler has heaps of holes in it so probs that? Will need to get the airbags looked at and code cleared. Might just take the lights out again for RWC :P

Leather seats look great, shame about the drivers side though, had to retrofit my old buckles too because the sockets were different sizes...?

Fixed the speedo too... I feel pretty silly after figuring it out to. Last time I worked on it I must have flipped the dial the whole way round, hence when it turned on it would just hit where it is supposed to rest at 0, derrrrp.

Got one from a wrecker, chrome was a tad wrecked so I dipped it black, looks good.

So a fair bit of work has been done, mainly panel related, finally looking like a car again!

Done!

Now just waiting on getting it painted, along with the Veilside wing!

Got a RWC done, needs a new tyre (which I find hard to believe given they are all the same but w/e couldn't argue my way out of it), windscreen, strut top mounts and a center muffler. Is the center muffler just a standard size, how much should I be looking at installed, best quote I have gotten is $100 supplied and fitted. If anyone in VIC wants to help me change my strut top mounts I would gladly shout them a slab or something :)

Just a bit, panel beater had never seen so much in his life.

Should have the car registered within the next 2 weeks, pretty f**king excited.

I need to clean the engine bay, top and bottom. Where abouts is the distributor so I can bag it up, anything else apart from alt and other obvious elecs I should cover too??

If I were you I'd go for full wheel alignment and see if it's all in order, if it's been in a big crash could of affected the car permanently

That's the plan, weirdly enough after changing the wheels it drives perfectly straight now, used to noticeable pull to the left.

The car is back in one piece, no cracks, no ridiculous amount of bog etc. Seats and interior trims back in, looking like a car again!

Roadworthy ready to go, hopefully registered by Wednesday.

All up 1400 over 2 weekends, including painting of bootlid and spoiler too. Very happy with the results :D

He is giving the car a buff next week tomorrow for free too, absolute top block.
