So get this.

I have the timing correct, everything lines up, i can crank the engine over by hand and nothing hits anything and the timing is still good, I want to start up the engine so I know everything is all good, the plenum is on with all of it plugged in, no alternator or PS and AC though. I put in a fresh battery and the engine cranks over but it wont start. I pulled a plug and checked if it was sparking and it was. I just replaced the fuel filter as well so I thought it might be still full of air and I started removing one of the bolts and petrol squirted out everywhere so its not that either.

My only other thought is that I ruined a cam or crank angle sensor when i degreased all the leaked out oil from the side of the engine, but if the sensor was bad then my guess is the ECU would not be sending sparks to the plugs. Also the first couple times I tried to start it there was a spark from the back of the plenum where those 2 braided ground wires attach to it, it wasn't grounding properly cus of dirt/oil on it so I cleaned it up and put it back which stopped the sparking, but the car still didn't start.

Any ideas?

I tried shorting the ECU pin to get an error code and my check engine and Neutral light just flashes @ around 2-3 flashes per second.

Did you plug everything back in correctly?

How long did you crank it for?

Also, check your fuses and the fusible links - those braided wires that go to the firewall are earths.

The alternator is connected just getting no power cus no belt on it. I checked all the fuses this morning and everything was good. I dont know wtf is going on, I want to verify that the timing mark on my crankshaft is correct, does anyone know which cylinder is supposed to be at the TDC when the marks all align?
