Right. Like I said, if you don't wanna do that then rip your heads off.
I'm not pulling it apart again, It would literally be cheaper and less time consuming to just drop a new motor in their than replace the head gasket. And it is almost undoubtedly the head gasket.
Only ever seen a head gasket go on one of these engines once. How about you fork up the hundred bucks to potentially save yourself a thousand bucks and a weekend of engine swapping?
I fix cars.

I dont see the point, can u think of any other possible explanation for why im getting smoke when the thermostat is closed?
By the sounds you have a bent valve in there. Comp test will tell all but blowing smoke, engine almost locking, running rough and carbon up plugs like that plus fact you dropped somethjing down there would bet Schummies left nut on it

Na I got the washer out, I literally could not hand crank it with a flat washer about 3mm in height lying on top of the piston so if the nut or anything else was down their I would have noticed. The engine runs fine and I think a bent valve would make some kind of knock or weird noise, it sounds pretty normal atm.
You could have put a small nick in the edge of the valve or head valve seat, which is allowing oil into the chamber.
Again a compression test will show this.
If you have coolant leaking into a chamber, then a compression test and coolant pressure test will show this.

You need to stop asking questions if you aren't going to listen to anyone.
People are giving you sound advice and you're just saying "nah, I don't think it's that" without even testing.
If you don't want to listen and try what anyone suggests. What's the point in asking questions here?
It's been said several times now. Do a compression test. If you have low compression in one of the cylinders, do a leak down test to determine where it's leaking.

alright alright, ill do a compression test if the smoke keeps coming back, ive been driving it around a bit today and its not smoking anymore, but im guessing tomorrow morning when shes cooled down again it will be back to square one.
Vectose wrote:Are you sure it's not just condensation?
All cars will steam from the exhaust on a cold morning.
Way too much smoke to be just condensation, plus like i said, when the thermostat opened up the smoke stopped instantly, then came back when it closed.
