Had my seats fixed

We had a guy round doing the leather sofas - repadding and cleaning and he mentioned that he used to work in auto retrimming and restoration etc, so I asked him about my car seats which were damaged in transit and are yet to be fitted.

I got them back today and couldn't be more pleased with them, it wasn't cheap (200 bucks) but a great result.

Can you keep us posted on how these look after a little while though?
As I've read a lot of these restorations are very short lasting

Those are ProSeat's yeah? $600 new so pretty pricey. Are there any other companies out there that do something similar to them...? or can anyone find used proseats covers?

Last time I checked, 600 is cheap for a full retrim!

Not sure if we're talking about the same thing. The leatherette trim is $600 supplied, not fitted. Gotta do the rest yourself of course or get it fitted by someone else. Anyway, if you meant $600 was cheap to get it supplied, I'm still inclined to agree, either way everything is "cheap" to an Australian whenever everything else is overpriced xD

I know mate, I ran one of the group buys about 10 years ago

They were $330 a set back then, old mate Max founded his business Proseat here with FTO covers. Yep they're a c**t to put on, but drive into an auto trimmer & tell me what he quotes you for a full leatherette retrim. You'll be up for $1500 - $2000.
Considering each seat takes approx 4 hours a pop to do, the price is on point. The DIY guide is actually still up here:

Some of the original 04 & 05 installs are starting to look a bit tatty, but to redo the lot for $600 & have it last another decade... money well spent if you ask me!

Yes, I am familiar with the old group buy... but it was a while ago so I wasn't sure if you still remembered ;D. Yeah, no disagreements here the seats look like they'd be very finnicky to put on, but it definitely is worth it considering they'll last you a decade. I'm still tossing up between getting Recaros or Leatherette retrim at the moment. Not sure which I'll decide to go for.
Edit: And yes Ben yours does look amazing, I'm very jealous >:(
