oil sump plug

When i got my car I figured id do an oil change, I added engine cleaner to the car too, I knew that couldnt stay in there for long. But now i cant get the sump plug off and its super stripped, and cant seem to get it off. Im in the middle of getting better tools to remove it. But how safe is it to drive my car in the mean time with engine cleaner??

Uh, majorly not good to drive the car like that..

You've basically diluted the oil with that - it won't lubricate the engine anywhere near as well as it should.
Sludge and crap will be dislodged, too... That'll all pour into your filter, and depending on how much there was, might clog your filter.

Don't drive it.

How do you plan on removing the plug?

Clean it to remove all oil and maybe use an angle grinder to put new faces on it.That might work.Obviouslyyoudneed to replace the plug once you got it off though. First id try a good set of snap pliers though of belting a ring spanner onto it

I like the idea of vice grips... If you've butchered the plug it should grip onto it pretty well

Brothers girlfriends brother is a mechanic he is lending us a bigger socket. Im using an attachment for the socket thats for stripped bots. Think its called a stripped nut remover kit, worst case scenario he said he would do it on the weekend if it doesn't work.

Problem solved! used a hollow bar and put it over the socket to extend it and it came off REALLY easy! What oil should this car be taking, i put in 10w 40 semi synth.

Can you add coolant, powersteering fluid, transmission oil without knowing what the previous owner used before, or do you have to drain it first?

Personally I always flush and start fresh
