The new project
Purchased for $1000
1989 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon G
all standard besides tint & stereo
220,000 genuine kms with a full service & owner ship history (including the orginal receipt of sale in Japan from Toyota and import papers to Aus ) 2 owners in Aus
1UZFE V8
RWD 4speed Auto
Reason for cheap price is, I let the bloke cash in the 11months rego, the rear right air bag has a leak and goes down over night
Small rust spot above rear windshield that will need some attention
Faded pearl white paint
That's it .. For now ..
VIP as f**k for a 80's car with more factory options than the rolls Royce, here's some that I've found in her so far:
Power folding mirrors
Power seats front and back
Electric steering wheel that comes down when you get into the car lol
Cruise control
FRIDGE ! Factory fridge in the rear parcel shelf lol (only fits a 4pk tinnies)
Navigation system
Digital tacho
Air bag suspension with height control
Tems- which a system that auto adjusts the suspension of the car due to the current driving style
AC swing (a button that gets the air con vents swinging back & forth)
Separate Front and rear climate controls
Rear seat storage compartment
Ciggi lighters front and back
Cd player & tape deck
Lots of speakers
Weighs like 2000kg im guessing half of its the f**king wiring loom lol
After some browsing I've found interesting things that make me like this car even more. Like, a bloke called matt farah has a Lexus with the same engine with has clocked over 1million kilometres.
The 1uz v8's made before 1993 have heaps bigger & stronger piston rods (very sought after by all the soarer blokes that want to run forced induction)
The 1uz is the only automotive engine in the world certified for use in Aircraft
There tons of super charger kits available for decent prices : )
Although it's nothing special to look at, it has potential. It's very unique.
& the high flow v8 sounds fuckin mint.
I think I might actually keep this one instead of crushing
Current plans:
Fix issues
Paint matt black
Slamm the fucker to the ground on some 22" chromies
Lol nah I dunno.
Might just clean her up.
Deck her out with a sound system, bigger fridge. Maybe chuck a iPad in place of the navigation screen
Currently lacking photos as I had it delivered to my mums place last week. Should be in my shed within a week or so
