Immobiliser and Central Locking Problem

Post by peterlikesstuff »

What can I do to fix the problem?

The central locking system doesn't work when using the key to open the door - I have to manually open/lock each door using the key. The central locking does work from inside the car - I can lock/unlock both doors from the driver side. The alarm/immobiliser works fine and seems to make a locking sound when I press lock on the remote.

I think it generally means the little actuator motors or whatever they are inside the door have carked it. Mine does this thing where unlocking the drivers door unlocks the passenger, but locking drivers doesn't lock passenger.

How would it not work when using the key and work from inside? Turning the key pretty much flips the lock as if you're flicking it over while inside.
