* 2 new tyres required before Rego.
* Currently have some lifting at the edges of the vinyl (depending on when the car is inspected)
* Headlamps could use a polish
Comments:
The car is stock besides all cosmetic modifications, it would be super easy to take it all the way back to stock (the hardest being re-fitting the OEM door hinges, but that can be done in a weekend)... I've owned it since 104,000 kms and selling because I bought myself an Evo. I know that the price is pretty up there compared to most FTOs, but she's clean and I'm not that fussed if she doesn't sell. I've put a reasonable amount of work into the car and hope to sell to someone who can appreciate it. I'm open to any special requests for pictures if you require closer inspection anywhere.

Yeah, no offence but $9,990 for a pre-facelift auto is never gonna happen.

Still got 4 months of Rego left.. :p so will drive it around until then. I'm aware the price is up there, I'm just testing the waters for interest at the moment. So it's a start. I'm really reluctant to sell tbh...I just want someone who wants to keep it on the road to buy it. If it isn't sold in 3 months I'll probably get that garage ready ...heaps of my friends reckon I just should keep it until the wheels fall off anyway, so I'm inclined to do so.

Re: [FS] 1996 Mitsubishi FTO GPX $9990 ono
It is a relatively new sticker ... I know the price is up there, I'm rather reluctant to sell anyway, so unless I get someone who is really keen and wants a clean FTO and loves the scissor doors and stuff...I'll garage it and be done with it. I didn't really post this here to sell to members since the majority of you already have a bunch of FTOs I put it here for any enthusiasts that may be looking for one. I doubt it will be sold to a club member (no matter how much I might wish it could be). I reckon parting the car out alone would get you somewhere around $7-8k...granted hinges would take a while to sell as they're a novelty item, but they're not cheap! So the rest is for the new sticker and other bits/bobs inside.
I've gotten a bit of interest, but not enough to call it. It's still got 3 months to go before it goes in the garage. It's not like I need it sold... I just won't be driving it and would rather someone got some enjoyment out of it and kept her on the road. If not, oh well.

Isn't the engine alone $1-2k..? The hinges+struts themselves are $1-2k lol. You're right 7-8k was probably an invalid estimate for simply parting it out (I imagine you get more for having the car up and running haha). To get that you'd need to put the factory hinges back on yourself and then sell the car for around 5-6 and the hinges for 1-2.

Re: [FS] 1996 Mitsubishi FTO GPX $9990 ono
You'd be very lucky to sell an engine (even with those kms) for 1k, let alone 2. I'd probably say anywhere from $5-900 but it obviously depends how badly someone wants it. Gearbox isn't worth as much as a manual obviously. Panels aren't worth much either.
But really, if you don't have a desperate financial need to sell, don't accept peanuts for it.
(or just part out the Evo into the FTO haha)

Hate to say this, but I sell engines for $500, irrespective of mileage. If not running properly, less. I have a version R in good condition im about to sell for $3500. Sadly, have to agree with everyone else. Wish it was otherwise, but unfortunately its not.

Re: [FS] 1996 Mitsubishi FTO GPX $9990 ono
I don't expect it to sell for 9, but I'd like to sell it for closer to that. So strange how the 'bit' is 20% the price of the engine haha. Who would've thought that the engine's price could get down to the point of being worth 5x the piece of plastic. Oh well. If it doesn't sell it doesn't sell. I just figured I'd cover all my bases here. The money is so insignificant that if I don't get a good offer on it, then it just isn't worth selling; If I really needed a couple grand asap I'd just sell it to a dealership. While ideally, I'd sell it to a club member, realistically I know it's not going to happen.

Re: [FS] 1996 Mitsubishi FTO GPX $9990 ono
Lol, if it was feasible I'd actually consider it tbh. But I do like having 4 doors and more trunk space xD...it seems it would be easier to part out an Evo5 into the FTO as opposed to the 7, but idk. Other than putting on some bolt ons, I'm not terribly mechanically minded to undergo such a large project. Also you forgot to include the mint stereo surround!!! $100 right there xD!bjk wrote:You'd be very lucky to sell an engine (even with those kms) for 1k, let alone 2. Have to say, you have the right attitude with this though. Its never good to be in a position where you are desperate to sell with unrealistic expectations. If you arent in a hurry and it doesnt really matter too much either way, you are much more likely to get a better price in the end. You have obviously put some time into it and that alone differentiates it from most for sale.
