Is the Whiteline front sway bar a direct drop in replacement

I have a 95 GPX, and the stock front sway bar that broke was 16mm in diameter.

If I replace it with a whiteline sway bar, will I need any new parts for it?

Searched in the forums, and it was said to be 18mm in diameter with three mount point settings.

Cheers

The supplied bush should slide into the preexisting bracket. Should be straight bolt on.

Do you happen to have the replacement part number for those bushes?

The whiteline bar would be stiffer than the stock one and replacing just the front would then disrupt the handling.

Find a stock replacement front swaybar, or upgrade both front and rear on the car.
Whiteline swaybars will stiffen up the ride considerably

I'm pretty sure the GR one is smaller...

Surely someone has just a stock GPX sway bar out of all the cars that have been wrecked recently. Asked dstocks?

The fronts are the same. Rears are as what you said.

Ah, no worries then.

Why would Mitsubishi put a smaller swaybar on the GX?
Just to make the GPX seem like a better all round package?

Possibly. Much like how the Version R ones are bigger than the GPX.

I did think at least one of the sway bars on the GR was smaller. Maybe the rear.

The Version R was a more sports oriented car, with weight reduction, stiffer crossmember etc so I think it is natural to put thicker swaybars (front and rear in that case).

But in the case of using a smaller swaybar on a GX, it seems like intentionally making one car worse to make the other shine.

I think it's fairly common though with car manufacturers. For example how the base models use grey plastics and upper spec models use black plastic. Certainly there should be no cost difference in manufacturing, but they need to make the upper spec model more appealing somehow and I guess part of it is from deliberate "sabotage" of lower models

I don't think it was deliberate de-engineering, GR/GX rears are very similar to a lancer, GPX/vR was an improvement.
