Jobs already begun.! 2nd hand motor sounds tempting but I really want to see this original engine live again..
Nice. Fresh rebuild also brings the power back up around manufacturers spec too.
yea.. thanks. it just costs arm & leg hah.. eaten up the re-paint budget as well! :lawso: :lawso: :lawso:

    More questions

    Post by DODO`` »

1/ Would there be anything else I should / easier to look at while the engines dropped?

2/ would cabin filter be behind the globe box?

cabin filter????? If you mean the heater matrix, then no, thats behind the centre console. If you mean the aircon evaporator unit, then the answer is yes

Yup cabin filter.. I ask because I couldn't find one in the "usual" place of behind the globe box..

Right, so FTO hasn't got one. Cool.

Speaking of the ac evaporator unit.. this is the bit that collects the gunk and introduces smell in the cabin right?

I've got no ac smell right now but I was thinking about things I could do while the engine was down.

If the ac evaporator is what I think it is.. lol so its in the cabin.. hence nothing to do with the engine drop..

      Cheers for clarifying!
      I hope I'm making sense!
      Thanks guys

      HID headlight

      Post by DODO`` »

I want some of that HID goodness too.

What are my options? I've seen some threads here about installing angel eyes? Can anyone point me to right direction?

      http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k208996799

I'm looking at one on yahoo japan auction.. any thoughts?
I've only got 6 hours left on this auction so gotta make decisions quick!

If I miss this is factory HID unit hard to come by?

Those aren't factory HIDs. They're just regular ones with a HID kit. Not even facelift lights.

Omg! I thought it was factory hid housing with aftermarket balast only.. phew, I'm glad I've listed it here.

Yep, aftermarket hid units. Grey area with legalities though. Depending on when your Version R was complied, HIDS were supposed to be removed during compliance. If it was the first scheme, you were safe. 2nd scheme they were meant to be removedand converted back to standard bulbs. Mine was the 2nd scheme and they got removed. I have thought about putting them back in but havent as of yet.
