Usually you need to stretch the covers. And it takes a fair bit of effort. I had to stretch one over the 40cm steering wheel on my Pajero. That was fun.

Any of you thought of buying the 39-40cm one, instead of stretching 37-38cm one?

Tint removal, insurance, boot light, boot wing

Post by DODO`` »

previous owner put this cheap quality, stupidly dark 15% tint and I want to take them off. Already did the sides but needed to take the tint off the rear windscreen carefully so I dont damage demister and antenna lines.

This method looks pretty neat. They use the cleaning liquid call "formula 409"
Does anyone know what the Australian equivalent is? OR anyone successfully removed rear windscreen without damaging the demister lines using other methods?

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Got the car insured with Just Cars. GPX is even cheaper. I got 3rd party with fire & theft.

GPX: Com($939), 3rd($263), 3rd w Fire&Theft($358)
GPvR: Com($729), 3rd($271), 3rd w Fire&Theft($521) per year with$625 access.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
and some random questions..

1.Does all FTO have no boot light?
2.Does the hole in the boot for the rear wings same with GPvR & GPX? I dont want to change the entire boot if I don't have to.

cheers

As far as I know, all boots have a light. Either your bulb has blown, or the switch is faulty. The switch is part of the locking mechanism in the body of the car. Try cleaning it out with some electronic contact cleaner, you can get it from Jaycar.
LED ALL the things.

I've purchased 38cm diameter DIY steering wheel cover but its too small! dayum..
I think Shhtuart told me once that the facelift MOMO wheel was 37cm, so I dunno why the 38 would be too small? :?
Ive stratched the 37-38cm one with soo much tension the stich was about to give. They've either sent me the wrong size or I'm doing something wrong.
Just ordered 39-40cm so when it gets here ill be able to tell once and for all!
Me giving out some info for once.

I'm out and about right now but you should be able to find it in the wiring manual: http://www.redfto.co.uk/phme9801_mitsub ... wiring.pdf

Couple questions again.. its a bit of a mission trying to figure out previous owners dodgy twist wiring lol.

Got all the sub +amp cables OFF.
So now I have complete sub&amp plus all wirings x2 (one each from each car) sitting in the garage.

Any one know what this wire is now?

Plus I get no reverse light. Check the bulbs and they are both fine? What do i do? Waaaa[emoji22] [emoji24]

Look how I found the reverse light switch hahahah I connected it back and the light stays on. I'm sure the switch is stuck.
So to get this out, I turn the nut open? Cheers
