Yup, just monitors the voltage and slightly skews the charge voltage based on other inputs.

Not needed though as the alternator has its own regulator.

Cheers, that just leaves the diagnostic wires. There's three of them that go into the VR4 ECU, what happens with these?

Vectose - have you removed the VR4 ECU altogether?

Done a bit of further research and i think i just have to remove the diagnostics wires and lose the engine check light function. My ecu can tell me of faults with the sensors its using but its not like the amount of fault codes that you can get from the standard ecu :\

Don't need to worry about the diagnostic wires. They're just for diagnosing errors/sensors with the factory ECU.

I don't have a 6a13, but have done the same with the FTO ECU and currently in the process of wiring up FTOwnage' one which is a 6a13. The ECU pinouts are almost identical.

Thanks for the info, that clears things up. I've cut the tabs of the cam trigger wheel .. time to get busy this weekend with wiring now :)

Ive finished wiring in standalone and currently calibrating the sensors, etc.

I need to enter some coil dwell times, there is a Dwell Time (ms) against Battery Voltage table but i'm not sure what figures to enter into here. Do any of you guys have this information?

I also have to calibrate the stepper motor but I have to enter the number of steps in the stepper motors range .. again I am stumped here

Any advice appreciated
