Hey ladies and gents, just recently bought a fto and I have a feeling that it has been thrashed, what are some things I should check over to know if it will last me a while or if I need to get something fixed( preferably the major parts)
Hope to hear from use soon!
Cheers :clown:

Wttc! Hopefully it's not as bad as you think. What are the symptoms?

It's not bad but I had a mechanic look over everything and he only found engine mount starting to split witch I'm changing soon, small engine leak witch I still have to find :/ lol
Boot covers cracked and just a militia be bush on right side and normal on left side. Just the gear changing seems a little rough, nothing heaps noticeable but it just feels different from the other cars I have owned haha could be nothing but what are some of the main things that go wrong with fto"s
Oh and how do I tell if it's a gpx etc? Haha the last owner just told me it's a fto

Sounds like it just needs some maintenance. Easiest way to check if GPX is if the oil cap is on the left hand side of the engine.

Yeah mate it's on the left hand side, sorry I'm new to fto"s and parts of the car in general I've only done smaller things to cars haha

Changing the gearbox oil may well help with the gear changes. Oil leaks arent uncommon. Engine mounts and CV/rack boots commonly need changing (Ebay). You should think about doing the belts and plugs when you fix the oil leak.

Theres an oil thread on the forum somewhere. It has more info than you could ever want. Havent got the link handy atm, but search for oil thread and you should find it.
