So i have an fto gr, and i got an offer on some mivec heads.

I was wondering if it was possible and or practical to replace my current heads with the mivec ones? I will also have the correct ecu aswell :P

Won't work without MIVEC loom, alternator and the additional sensors only found on the MIVEC.

Okay, but are the base blocks the same?

It should all just come on a Mivec loom.

MAP sensor instead of MAF, too.

Intake manifold is different as well

I just finished the conversion from GR to GPX, It may not make a difference in speed but it sounds so much better than the old engine and runs better. Just make sure you have the right ECU as well e.g. need a manual mivec ECU and manual wiring loom etc. if your going to go for the engine swap. Otherwise it's 1 step forward and 2 steps back

I believe the intake manifold is the same, just the Y splitter part that joins the heads to the intake manifold is different due to the height difference in the heads

Nope, they're different. MIVEC ones have an output on back for MAP sensor as well as a port for IAT sensor.

Good to know.
I would've thought that there would've just been a blanking plate, like the EGR blanking plates on other Mitsubishis
