Catalytic Converter

Hi guys,

I have a mildly modded MIVEC motor (P&P heads, 5mm oversize TB, extractors, exhaust and ECU).

How restrictive would the catalytic converter be at this stage if anyone knows?

I do not plan to drive the car on the street (just track) currently and was considering about just knocking out the cat internals as a free "high flow cat" upgrade.

Is this a bad idea at all?

I think it was Aza who netted pretty reasonable gains via decat.

I believe it was in the $1,600 range but that was a complete rebuild of the heads including new valve guides, 3 angle valve cut etc + the intake runners were match ported to the heads


EDIT:
Just read that thread. 10kw gain is pretty impressive from just a decat.

Does anyone know the restriction difference between decat and high flow cat?
