Alternator FR Terminal - Error 64

Hi everyone,

My MIVEC isn't engaging and error 64 is logged in the ECU.

I have replaced the alternator but the error still comes up.

I am reading this how to guide:

Can someone tell me what the different colous on the alternator pin are?

This test doesn't mention what colour/pin to be testing the voltage on:
"Run the engine first until all of the lights on the dash have gone off then switch the engine off, keeping the cars ignition at “on”, then unplug the alternator. If you check on the loom plug you should find a voltage of between 4.8V and 5.2V being sent from the ECU. If you don’t have this there is either a fault with the ECU or a short circuit in the wiring from the ECU to the alternator"


Additionally does anyone know what pin/colour the above "sent signal" is on the ECU?

I'm not right good at reading these things but does this help, connector A83, maybe Pin 4 blue, ECU connector B34 pin 55 blue?

I ended up figuring it out and testing everything.
All voltages read within normal parameters however the alternator is drawing current when the engine is off (0.4A).

Not sure if this is what is causing error 64 to show up

Something stuck on then or bad alternator diode or something, maybe go through pulling fuses one at a time and see if you still get the draw to see what it could be?
Not much use with electrics i'm afraid.

I've pulled each individual fuse out and only the main terminal on the alternator caused the drain to go away.

Either way I am getting the alternator tested and reconditioned as the diode must be bad in it - Hopefully this fixes the issue as everything else has been checked
