Fitting extractors - plenum off / leave it on?

Post by Rob Furniss »

Just bought some RPW extractors and now need to fit them, started last night and got stuck on a stubborn bolt on the rear so postponed for another day.
I'm trying from the front and underneath though not from the top rear as I don't really want to remove the supercharger.

Can extractors be fitted with the plenum still in place or does it need to be removed to access bolts etc?
How much harder by leaving the plenum/supercharger over the rear bank (i.e restricting access from the top of the rear)?

I can get some access from the top passengers side if I remove the intake pipe and throttle body which is not much of a problem.

Fit the rear one from underneath, easy to fit just time consuming

Once the y pipe is out of the way which you have to take off anyway, there’s not too much in the way, all bolts are accessible without taking anything else off

Ratcheting spanners and wiggle bars for socket wrenches will be your friend
