MIVEC Oil Pressure?

Hi everyone,

I installed an oil pressure gauge recently in my car.

I use Shell Helix Ultra 5W40.

On cold start up and high idle it goes to 8 bar.
When it reaches temperature and base idle is sits at 2 bar.
When the oil is warmed up (70-80C) the pressure is 1 bar.
When I rev it the pressure goes to 8 bar at around 6,000rpm when the oil is hot.

The engine has has a full rebuild.
Those pressures seem a little bit odd to me though. I suspect part of the rebuild might have been a new oil pump?

How hard are these to check and/replace especially the pressure relief spring?
