UAS Track Day 1 May, 2005 - Wakefield

Post by smorison »

Hi Guys,
Early warning for those interested.

Same format as last year, except we'll have a better class for our cars so that there aren't really turbos in it...
(from last year costs my vary slightly)
COST: 195.00 (possibly less depending on number of cars)
Requirements:
* Good condition tyres
* HELMET ADR approved motorcycle helmet
* Jeans / Long sleve shirt

Price includes:
* Track Entry
* Timing Monitor
* Prizes
* Free access to advanced driver training instructors

Price Excludes:
* CAMS
* Helmet (can hire one)
* anything else

I'd really like to see 4 or more FTO's on the track this time...

This event is open to all cars not just FTO's... and FTO's from Canberra are especially welcome to join us. Whilst this is a competition to get the best track time, its a fantastic chance to improve your driving skills with trained instructors

I'll have a new set of tyres by then and at this point I don't see why I couldn't go.

Sounds like heaps of fun.

Wakefield Track

Post by unique zed »

Yes all welcome and always a lot of fun, and experience and you will be better drivers after the day especially if you take advantage of the pro drivers who give in car driving instruction.
For those who have not been to Wakefiled it is a very safe track and only has walls down half of the straight only. So should you go off the track like Steve does ( as he is having a big go) then you just plough a bit of dirt and get a bit dusty.
We will have details on our site in a few weeks time.

I'm a maybe. If I get a new suspension setup in time I'll be sweet to go, but I won't be able to hit the track with what I've got.

If I can get up there then Spectator/Pitt Crew sounds good for me... Just to clarify if by the hand of god my car is up and running by then dont worry I wont scare the b' jesus out of you guys by driving on the track so relax Steve :wink: Unique Zed there may only be 1 small wall on the track but my money is on my cleaning it up first go if I raced...Muhahahahaha

Cheers,

Cheers,

lol to do that you'd need to drive 1/2 down the front straight then do a very sharp left hand turn into the wall... (and the road goes to the right)

but then again it is you we're talking about... :)

Count me as a maybe Stephen.
It is a long way to travel from Brissy but I might do this instead of the South West rocks. I`ll have to decide.
I`m looking for an excuse to run the new engine in.

its about 1 1/2 hours south west of sydney CBD...

we should have no problems finding somewhere for you to stay so we can sort that out at a later date...

btw we sort of have a tradition going of a BBQ for those racing the night before...

wakefield is a fantastic track and really safe.... quite challenging and a lot of fun so if you're going to choose between s/w rocks and this ... well it's a good track to come to but it would be nice to see you at both :)

May should be long enough to get everything sorted out.

I will do everything in my power to be there this time - although the other half is still a bit against the idea, but she will come around.

I can always tell her I am going to "watch" :D

So what is the price etc for the cams license?

May require some accommodation in Sydney, but we can discuss this later on.

quick update 5 or more cars (paid via me in one lump some) price will be 175.00...

there isn't a limit to the number of cars as long as we get in early so i'll be wanting to make payment to John at the beginning of April. if you pay late it'll be 195.00
