Starter motor

Post by viper »

Hi All,

Has anyone had to replace their starter motor? The mechanic has had my car for the last four days for a service and new clutch and only realised that the starter motor is stuffed today. I've brought the car home and was hoping that I could use a Galant one (RACV can replace it on the spot). Has anyone done this? Otherwise, are there any aftermarket ones that fit? Mitsu quoted me $1000ish....

Thanks in advance!

This has been discussed in depth many times, in short, you can use parts from the magna starter motor, to recondition it, i got mine done at an autoelectrician for around $200
