No FTOs in 2005 APCC

Post by Luca »

After the 2004 Procar debacle and its rebirth as the 2005 APCC, I was curious as to why no FTOs were eligable to run in the Event. In previous years we've had people like Nathan Pilkington and Richard Hing upholding our honour on the race track. But not this year. :(

So I posed the question on the V8Central forum and here is the answer:
The FTO is not eligible as it was never available in Australia, in the same way that a V6 VW Beetle was not available. These cars being allowed was a PROCAR thing. The rules have been tidied up to make sure that it doesn't happen again.
Pity ... but the reasoning seems fair enough. Just another reason FTOs should have been brought into the country by Mitsubishi Australia.

Anyway just thought people would like to know :)
