Which Workshops Specialise In FTO's In Melbourne??

Post by keirdoubas »

Hey All,

I've had my beast since 2001 and he needs some love.
Seeing as all you people are very knowledgable when it comes to our awesome car, the Mitusubishi FTO.

I'd like to know once and for all, which workshops specialise in Mitsubishi FTO's in Melbourne.

Lets put together a definitive list if we can!

ahhhh yeah theres are few work shop been list a few times already. May be the mod would like to make a sticky out of the list.

Anyway there are two very popular workshop in melb.

SL Motorsports
0414 738 781

Lots of FTO owners (members & non-members) go there for regular & major services, they also do performance parts upgrade.
The boss, Lee, for some reason can find some hard to get parts for FTO, like sunroof with fame, & almost all of us in Vic had our alternator reco at SL by now.

Power House GENESIS Racing
2 Cottage Street Blackburn 3130
(03) 9894 0268

These guys offer dyno tuning, turbo conversion (Mikey's beast), performance upgrade & of course regular & major services too. They do cost a bit more, but they go extra mile to please customer, like pickup your car & return it the same day.

Thanks very much for your response FTO338, its really appreciated. Thanks for taking the time out to list a few places that specialise in our car, i really need a replace right now.

Took my car to my local guy to just do a service tonight and turns out I may very well have oil pressure issues :( sheesh, sounds pricey.
Dont like the sound of that and he doesn't have the knowledge to take apart an FTO mivec engine and diagnose the issue. So Im gonna need someone who knows an FTO very well to take a look.

I notice it says on your profile that your central? Im in Southbank, thats central.. probably not far from each other. Anyway, thanks again for the info, i'll give those guys a call tommorrow and ill keep you posted with the details if you like..... wish me luck :)

And I'm just around the corner from y'all on near the Sth Melb Market.

I'll try to find out if the Fri 13th cruz is going ahead and if not, then an inner city mini-cruz might have to be organised. :D

Talk about bad experience, I had my old car service at one of the Mitsubishi dealer, & one of the guy there stole my coin box in the glove box, there only like $30 bucks of coins, so I didn't make too much fuss about it, but I did complaint on the spot to the service manager, & he just point to a A4 size signs that said "we are not responsible for you belonging" 8O

Good things about it though, this dealership had since close, & sell VW instead, but I wouldn't take my VW there, even if they pay me.

I have to second Kev's nomination of SL Motors. I've been taking mine there ever since the alternator packed up. The entire crew are extremely honest. I have never bothered taking anything out of the car and always found all my CDs, money , smoking dope, and killing knife right where I left them.

Wouldn't have a clue, but you can always ring Lee....mind you his pretty busy these days.

One FTO is getting engine change, & mind is still there waiting to do all the little bit & pieces.
