Manual Gear Surround
Mine is now absolutely rooted. It's gone from being snapped in two places to being shattered If anyone knows where i can purchase one in good condition (i don't have the money to buy it off mitsubishi) then let me know!!

it's easy mate. Just remove the gear surround to access your stereo a couple of times and you'll start to notice little cracks near the clips. Or you can be a lazy bastard like me and not remove the gear surround completely while removing your stereo and accidentally drop your deck on it or knock it with your arm and *bang* it snaps into 2 or 3 pieces.
They are made from very thin plastic and are very fragile. I've been to a couple of wreckers and the gear surround is either missing or broken so I'll say there are a lot of people out there who have broke their's.
