That annoying beep

Post by Bennoz »

To those of you handy with wire cutters & soldering irons, has anyone figured out how to disable that annoying noise the car makes when the keys are in the ignition & the door is open??

Yeah on the Tip there’s a continues beep when you put it on reverse, is a safety device, but my friends thought it was a parking sensor, how embarrassing.

Edit - it looks like you beat me to it! I'm on dial up speeds :(

That is the link to get rid of the reverse beep. The ignition reminder beep is on the same circuit board. To disable it you have to remove a different diode or resistor if I remember correctly.

Ok, bit more homework into this & those 3 diodes do 3 different things:
1 is key in ignition bleep, 1 is reverse bleep in Tip & the other is headlights left on bleep... gonna take my soldering iron & try until I find.

Yeah that looks familiar. I didnt know that FTO's had headlight reminders?

Mine didnt. I bought a headlight reminder kit from Jaycar and installed it after a flat battery!

In any case it is pretty easy to do. Good luck.
