WSID - Wednesday 28th September

Post by AJ »

Hi Guys, I've finally got a Wednesday and Thursday off work on the 28th of this month and really want to go to the drags at WSID, not to race just yet but to get an idea of how it works and also to have a good night out.

I need someone to show me the ropes. Any volunteers? Anyone want to join me on the 28th?

More info here http://www.wsid.com.au/MajorEvent.asp?E ... nformation

I'm usually there when hubby drags his bike... I check to see if he's draging on the 28th...... Just checked and his club is dragging on the 21st - this could all change if there is rain but at this stage not looking good...

I'll be there. Hubby did a 10.52 over the 1/4 last week so he wants to take the beast out on the track again to see if he can beat it. I'll ring you guys when I get there, I have both your numbers...

Cheers

Happy days, here some happy snaps.
One FTO out 'GON-20T' ... yes I saw you online earlier too :D
A number of high power, big leaping egg beaters (rotaries) some nice old school V8's, the regular mix of Skylines, 200's, Rex's & of course the boys on bikes (Mr Kaz included) and to top it all off a physcotic man in a mini tow truck that blew all 4 rear tyres during the burnout session 8O

I enjoyed the night..... Many cars dropping pieces of tailshafts all over the track, gearboxes seizing on the start line, Mr Kaz doing a 10.3 1/4 mile, turbo Hayabusa doing an 8.8 (fastest thing on the track all night) and of course the little truck doing the burnouts.

Funniest comment of the night came from AJ. Looked at Mr Kaz on his Hayabusa waiting to take off, turned and said to me "But how do you fit on the bike" he wasnt aware that you removed the dome from the back of the bike and replaced it with a seat. Sorry AJ I'm not laughing at you its just the mental picture of me sitting on that dome at 240km/h and hanging on for dear life.... I'm still having a giggle about it.

And for those who dont know what a Hayabusa looks like and therefore dont get the joke - this is what I mean

Ran around 15.8 over the 1/4 - not too bad for a guy who only had the car 2 weeks!! :D

 It looked painful if you had to sit on that dome at 240km/h, how do you stay on without slipping off? I feel so silly now
