Sure is a Beauty

What would be the KW gain?
Do you think the car can reach 100KMH in 5 sec with this supercharger?

Also wonder how much it'll cost to fit this big thing.
looks like a lot of piping work and remod of the engine bay :?

dunno much about the specs of the supercharger, but it sure looks bloody huge nevertheless...

i wonder how long the internals can remain intact with that sucker fitted!

Click on the writing in Mikey's original post.

I have seen superchargers for the Pajero etc before - I'm guessing that it is one of those as the Pajero is 3L I think.

blowers

Post by elmo »

I'm dead keen on the idea of getting a blower but that thing is huge.
I can just hear my girl sreamin, "ahhh it's too big get it out"......
The thing with blowers is that you have to be really careful when buying second hand, specially if it has been used off road, cause all the dust wears the impellor bladwes and reduces your boost. Know a guy who bought one for 250 buck and thought it was a great deal... Till he had to rebuild it and replace the bearings and then it cost 1200 odd. almost cheaper to buy new.
A blower is easier to fit than a turbo cause you only needs to duct intake air into the throttle butterfly, air filter at the other, a belt to drive it and bobs you aunty, boost. The real trick is getting the ratios right so you dont get too much boost.

and due to the nature of the massive torque gains on low RPMs typical of any blower installation, don't expect the tiptronic to last the distance either...

blowers

It could be under driven, ie the boost could be wound down to about 6psi (which is what the turbo kits are gonna get) so the amount of wear/load on the engine will be very similiar. Because it has the electronic clutch it can kick in and out, so it only comes on above certain rpm or throttle position, this would reduce your low down torque and in effect make it drive more like a turbo.
Has anyone tried to contact this guy for more info, like dimensions etc?
