Brake recommendations...

Post by Greggles »

I've recently discovered this annoying high-pitched squeaking sound that even seems to deafen my stereo when I apply the brakes..

...And after taking a quick gander it seems that not only have I worn out my brake pads completely but even started to warp the rotors. :(

I've priced a couple of mechanics and the best quote I've got is $375 for front and back brakepad replacement plus rotors. Anyone know whether this is a good price or should I fork out a few extra bucks and upgrade to some better brakes?

Any help would be appreciated.

Danke, Greg.

Hi Greg,

Try http://www.brakedistributors.com.au

They are on the Gold Coast.

I got them to source me some EBC rotors and EBC Greenstuff pads a couple of years back.

Plus they also build Cobra replica's on the side which is worth a look. :-)

Cheers

am sourcing some EBC greenstuff brake pads and DBA slotted rotors myself

went to brakes plus and ask for em, and jebus, DONT GO THERE.

Got quoted:

EBC greestuff: $240
DBA Slotted rotor: $200

So i went to your friendly repco store and got the following quote:

EBC Greenstuff: NA
DBA Slotted rotor: $120

Im like "wtf?"

Anywayz, if anyone can get the brake pads or rotors cheaper or know where to get them, please help a bro out

Racebrakes also worth a serious look. Bit cheaper than Greenstuff, and stop hard all day.
