Damn you Boris!

Here I was thinking Feb was panning out to be a cheap month...

Im not makin' any promises here, I've got a sh*t load of things to fix before she'll make it over the pits.... including 18" wheels that rub to the point of almost locking up!

Sigh... I'll call the panel beaters this mornin' & book her in

sigh. don't think! act!

This is one of the cheapest timed events, and is very well oganized with a large selection of cars that the fto will be very competative against.

It's super safe and great fun. You can even use the street tyres aslong as you have good brakes. And the first time you can take it easy!

I know this site got lot's of new people, so c'mom! You can tell your parents it's driver training. :)

Yeah it's a cheap event....but it's the preperation that goes into an event that puts the price up.

My tyres wouldn't last many laps, especially in this heat.....my discs need changing soon and an oil change is on the cards. Plus rego!

But....Feb 25th is a far bit away so we'll see if I can get her up to scratch. 8)

Your just going to have to remove the bling!

I have 7 stock rims with tyres , i'm sure i can lend you 2 for the day, all of em have road tyres that you can chew up.

Hahaha, Ben, you're supposed to get the paint on the caliper, not the disc

Frozen.....waffles....mmm......I mean:

I went back in June of last year and it was sooooooo much fun. You learn heaps about what to do and what not to do in your car at higher than average speeds.

As for car prep, make sure she's had a good service and all the appropriate bits have been looked after, ie brakes, tyres, oil. Checking brakes are critical however, make sure you're pads/discs have decent meat on them and that for safety's sake it's probably best to change the fluid once you're finished.

Depending on the temps of the track on the day and the quality of your rubber you could end up going through a whole set of fronts, or at minimum, half a pair. The rears don't get much wear.

So, as long as your car is prepped and you've done maybe a wee bit of reading into taking a decent racing line and you'll have a total blast! :D

I couldn't wipe the grin off my face after my first few laps.

Pete is right. I'll adda little bit more.

It all depends on what brakes and tyres you have, if you go hard all day you will use about 20% of your pads, and maybe 20% to 40% of your tyres (All depends on how soft of tyres u have)

For prep work, just need to like Pete said, check your tyres & brakes.
Change the oil in your car, and if you haven't changed your brake fluid in a while then do it, put some nice Motul fluid it in!

I have only seen one accident where a ute was being stupid, and fishtailed a few times and clipped a wall. But he was being stupid.

There are 4 classes so we will not be driving around with super fast cars on the track at the same time. There should be a maximuim of 12/15 cars at the same time.

During the day you get 2 hot lap sessions, where you go out without any interruption to record your best lap time. Then from these two sessions depending if you win your class you get prizes. Last tiem I won class C, and got a nice BMI DVD, and a drink bottle

And like I said, this is equivalent to advanced driver training, you learn a shitload. Since i started i probably wiped 5/6 seconds of my lap times, and that is pure technique, nothing to do with the car.

I hope some of you will consider coming along, as there are a lot of modded & stock FTO's that need to be put to good use to show the type-r's who's boss.

Well, let's hope you can come, will be good to see you on the track, give you a break from all the work you do..

And it's great, the categories don't put any preassure on you because your not driving with R32 GTR's at the same time lol.
