If you get something like a Mivec controller or an aftermaket ECU (piggyback or not), you'd be able to eradicate your speed delimiter.

I vaguely remember a website from the UK also had some DIY method of doing it. Depends how confident you are with electronics on the car (or in general).

delimiting

Post by elmo »

the MPH converter can be used to delimit but you will need the 180mph-280km/h gauges to read right.

Yeah you should be able to. Perfectrun is in Homebush, Sydney.

Even though some things may not be advertised on the site, he might be able to hunt them down with his suppliers in Japan.

That doesnt look too bad!
Do u have any complaints about it kaveman?
How bout any of the Apex Products such as:
http://www.perfectrun.com.au/real_size_ ... -AFCII.htm
I would prefer that it is a Mivec controller and a speed defeater in one with a nice display

You can get a Apexi RSM. Its a speedcut, rev meter, speed meter, 0-100 times, 0-400 times. Its in a blue screen.

The only thing it doesn't have is a mivec controller.

yeah that perfect power smt6 piggy back sounds good bout i would like to be able to change the mivec settings on 'the fly'
and it would be a whole lot easier if the mivec controller and speed defeater were in the one product

I suggest you get an RSM. I got one of those in my car and they are fantastic. U can do so much with them. They are good when u let other ppl drive your car, cos u can see how hard they have revved it and how fast they have gone. But more importantly it takes away the Speed Limiter..

hey sorry guys i have been back in this section for a while

d_stroy_r
the smt6 cost me $1200 fitted and $30 for the cable to plug into the laptop

think it was about $900 by its self

Bluntman
i don't know what controls the mivec switch i know it happen at certian revs, if it a electic thing i think the smt6 could handle it like a extra fuel jet

jump on the perfect power forum and post a msg (there a guy in the domican republic is know them back the front)

with the smt6 you can wire in a switch to jump between two different tuneings

any more questions people

Robb's setup is really good and was done properly don't skimp here otherwise you're just wasting your money. Despite what the websites and brochures tell you there is no 1 fits all, each car has different mods and that's why you need a programmable computer. A programmable piggyback computer and a few hours on the dyno is the only way to go if you seriously want to do this, otherwise you are simply throwing away money.

not sure about smt6 and MIVEC, its a software switch. From memory MIVEC engages over two stages at 4400 and 5000 RPM. a MIVEC controller will allow you to engage it at different RPM and speed (ie engage MIVEC at 20KPH). i haven't seen any dyno prints to prove that a MIVEC controller is of any real use, if you have some please put them up.

If you had adjustable exhaust cams (something i'm thinking about) a MIVEC controller would probably come in handy or rather be a must just to run the damn things.

anyway i'm tired there is a article in the fto information on how MIVEC/VTEC YO!!!!! work its really a worthwhile read.

Thanks kaveman will do.
I know that its pretty usless to do without other mods, im just trying to figure out a plan of what mods to do to my car so i dont get side tracked (hopefully!)
Maybe the mivec controller can wait until im finished with the other mods.
smorison: could u please find out the exact price for the speed delimiter, and where would be the best place to get it put in (UAS?)
