brakes

Post by demonic_hordes »

where can i find a good brake fitter in melbourne? i got some rb74s from race brakes melbourne but they don't do caliper painting. rb74 = 220 fitted. I was wondering whether i should take the brakes and have them fitted somewhere else that will do colouring? or should i just get them to check the calipers, do the pads and head somewhere else and get them to paint?

By the way I have done my calipers and brake drums and believe it or not my advice would be to do them by hand rather than spraying.

The paint will end up more evenly and you control the thickness of the coats and you won't have to trouble yourself with any masking whatsoever.

Just make sure that you don't use WD40 to clean off any rust coz you're brakes will kinda die for a while. I learnt that the hard way!

Actually does anyone know if this has permanently screwed my brake pad/rotor? The brakes work as normal now though.

painting is easy....

do what i did. jack the car up....put it on stands...take off all the wheels...sand some sh*t of the hubs etc...when u get sick of that sprey with some de-greaser...

tape up some stuff if u want...I didnt

sprey sh*t everywhere, leave for 30min and do again...and again and again...

mine still looks awsome....u maye get stuff on the disc...it will come off on your first drive.
