$2000. NO WAY.

Get a excedy or rpw clutch, they retail just over $500 and get a mechanic to put it in. $1000 max for everything!

i was thinking 700-800 max, when ultra tune told me min is 2000 i didnt believe em, but when i rang 2-3 other places they all told me min 2000 so i just about gave up. no one wants to touch em because the labor is very difficult apparently

thanks all :)

Does anyone know if it is that difficult to do an fto clutch?
I need a new one and my step-dad has done my last few cars... he's pretty good. but never worked on fto.could he do it with a car manual?
Its either get a standard clutch and mechanic or heavy duty clutch and step dad (stepdad+a carton)....

means absolutely nothing to me... Im guessing that either the crossmember has to be removed (Is it possible?) or the engine removed?

There are only 4 mounts holding the motor in, the gearbox is one, the cross member holds 2. So if you undo both the last remaining mount aint gonna hold on that long. Its best done on a hoist with creative engine stand work.

If your stepdad has done a few on the grass out front before, I'd say he'd be able to do this one. He just needs to be able to get the car high enough to drop the box out from under.
