Looks brighter, havent taken it out on the road yet.
but there is this high pitch noise coming of from both ballasts all the time.
Why?

Also, someone was talking about proper initial set up of the lights, like it has to be turned on for a while to get the correct colour? Make sense?
there should be some noise when you first true on the lights, but goes away after few seconds.

no i'm not kidding. i've always been technically able to get centrelink, with that said, i do work. i do a little cash work and a lot of contract work which means i'd earn $1k/week for a month or so then end up not working for another month etc etc...

always been able to get cnetrelink, sure they think i can live on $35 a week (when i'm not working) >.< hehe

ok got my HIDs today..thanks..Looked pretty good and the quality seemed quite good around the cables etc.

They are sh*t loads brighter...when u put on high beam you don't really notice a difference...really happy and install took about 1 hr...only finding a spot to mount the balast took any time..

Total plug and play...easy DIY

here are some pics

HID and standard

it just occured to me that i know nothing about HIDs (apart from what i've read from this thread)

um... are the purple ones (12000K) still brighter than the standard fto ones?
khunjeng - those ones u have, they r 8000k not 10000k right?

i cant make up my mind about which ones to get now lol
i want the purple ones but they'd stand out like dog balls to cops wont they T_T' so i'm tossing up between the 8000k or the 10000k

has everyone managed to install their yet? can i convince ppl to put up pics of the different ones?

cheers :)

Even the 8000K have a purple tint when you look at them. I wouldn't want to go any more into the blue spectrum than that or you will be cop bait. I've been past the fuzz a few times and they don't seem to notice too much.
Finally got a pic while driving. I've had HID for bout a week now and would not be without them. The photo's still do not do them justice. Line markings stand out more, signs jump out at you, and people stare... :D

Ha, pic worked this time, thanks BorepYano.

just be careful with your setups,
as you insert the new hid bulb, your cut off point will be changed,
I have found mine were pointing too high, blinding incomming traffic terribly, almost like high beams. So, I had to bring it done at home.
Also found that, right headlight beam was pointing towards the left a lot. Again I centred it,

It definately needs professional allignment to get it set up right. Will wait till the next service to align it all right

Each light assembly has 4 screws at the back, 2 for high, 2 for low beam.
One of these screws adjust the horizontal, the other vertical alignment,

Check out the back of the headlight, you will see the screws there

Like Euro said, GPvR already comes with HID and your headlights, along with every other FTO on this planet is projector style. Which i told you before already.

Projector style is basically your bulb cover and your halogen and HID is the bulb. Its just the bulb use different technology.
