Why is it easier to turbo a GR than GPX???

So you want a hairdryer on your FTO? Or do you already have a hairdryer in it? This is the section for it. All other big power projects & forced induction goes here too.

Almost every semi high tech turbo has cam timing. The XR6T has it.

hey so what about the frankenstein engines i was mentioning in another thread?

someone mentioned a having a 6a12 top and a 6a13tt bottom giving you a 2.5ltr twin turbo v6 but still with the 8500rpm 6a12 mivec in it?

would that result in catastrophe then? =\

Pretty sure that is HKSFTO, currently owned by "WildRide" in Melbourne, although I haven't seen him online in ages.

..
Why didn't anyone buy it?
seems like $10k for a completely custom, screamer of an engine would be snapped up within seconds!

Hell, you could even put that engine into a VR4 and gain awesomeness.

$10k on a block alone is a lot of coin...

dont forget you'd need fuel pump, injectors, FPR, braided lines, brake upgrade, Stand alone ECU, LSD, heavy duty clutch, lighter flywheel, etc etc etc...

Then labour on top of that and the fact if it was tuned like it should be (For some sweet grunt) it would be a prick to drive around town..

I've got about the same $$ in my internals, but they should be able to put out more power than this... (Thanks to plenty of boost)

Yes but would it have the same amount of low down turbo torque the 2.5l would have?

and yeah, i see now..would cost about 15k just for the engine alone..then you have to think about the drivetrain.
still, that engine would have been absolutely awesome.

i saw a 3l mivec make about 200hp on a dyno at the treads (with a chip/ecu and an exhaust) so im guessing this would make about 180/190 thats only about a 30hp/40hp increase for $15k. the 3l did top out at 7k rpm though.

This is far more than a 2.5L MIVEC... it is completely custom... NOt some factory thing...

If it was done right and made less than 200kw atw then i'd be surprised...

Oh and as far as low down torque, I doubt it would....

Considering i get boost at 2,500rpm, where as a frank engine would have max torque at like 8k... Mine pulls like a freight train from about 3k right through to 7k...

IS Simon around?? If so please feel free to share your last experience in my car (Coming down Nebo???)
