Shift Light
Has anyone ever put one of these in? And by these, I mean just the shift light. I dont want a monster tacho hanging off my dash or bonnet, my tacho works fine. I just want a light to tell me its time to shift - as with the blower addition this has become pretty critical for me.
If so, how did you wire it up?

Have used a couple of varieties in the other car. Just a matter of wiring up to 12V ignition, accessories, ground, and RPM output on ECU.
Look at the Apexi RSM wiring manual here (1.4mb download). Shows you the correct pinout for RPM output.

Thanks mate. That's exactly what the wiring manual said, but I didn't belive it for some reason Spose I was expecting blue with a green stripe or some other obscure combo.Shane001 wrote:Should be white

Different models are wired differently. The manual is based on a 98 FTO, for example a few of the colors are different on my 95 GPX. Always best to trace and verify before cutting and splicing

Re: Shift Light
Well, we're right with it being white. Im wrong in buying a shift light from ebay
Tried it on 2 cars & it just doesnt f**ken work. Im not surprised, their 'new - in original packaging' description seems to have highlighted a loophole. Yes its never been used and was in original packaging... from 1965 Wiring diagram (which I might add was more like Egyptian parchment) told me to connect the rpm signal wire to the coil

Re: Shift Light
Looks alright though, maybe you can use the LED and the case and make your own.
Don't Jaycar have shift light kits?

They used to sell this one: http://www.siliconchip.com.au/cms/A_109904/article.html but it isn't in their online catalogue anymore. They might have old stock.
