This talk about this cruise makes me wish I didn't live 10hrs away from birsbane, sounds like its going to be awesome, especially when your car is going to be there and this FTO with a 6a13

But anyways when your car is done take heaps of pics so I can see it, also take a pic of the turbo manifold, that would be sweet.

Alright, got it back... more probs.. For some reason it wont make power. the tuner thinks the wastegate is leaking boost,
It has awesome power till like 4-5,000rpm and then it just dies off...
Currently investigating.... :?

Okay.. Two things currently:

1) http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... ic&t=10653
explains that my car wont start...

2) Not making much top end power...

Its hard to guage the difference in power because i have diven it slow as for past month and a sh*tty van for 2 months before that.
but i think the low down power is awesome just sort of dies off up top.
Might have something to do with the 3,500rpm mivec point.
But power is sitting at 107kw atw right now.
However has like 88kw at only 3,500rpm...

So they only thing left to do is to get that power up top...
If the current starting problem is cheap fix, my clutch will go in and the car will get some loving from my tuner to see whats happenin.

If the prob is major, (i.e. Seized engine) im contemplating getting a complete rebuild inc. forgies, LSD, suspension, paint job, and more boost... but that will involve some finance.. :(

So hopefully something cheap and easy for now..
just wish i had a second car to get around in.

will keep you guys posted...

Driving this thing as is is pretty quick... cant wait to see if we can get that 107kw up to something like 160... muhaha

What's the A/Rs on your turbo? Could possibly be that the turbo spools really great but cant push out enough air for the high rpm demands.

Because it was tuned with the leak there...
So by fixing it, it will be all of a sudden getting boost...
So needs a tune to be able to handle the boost...

Righto... Well got a call yesterday saying they were just doing a few last runs on the dyno, and i could pick it up in an hour...
30 mins later they called.... the fuel pump is dying.
And my FPR is leaking... and i cant find the receipt for it! arghh

Anyway, they're putting in a bosch 044 pump and bypassing the FPR till i buy a new one.

So looks like i ended up getting a new pump after all.

but they're still only getting 185hp atw.. hrmmm :?

Thats a long shot from where i want it (220hp)... Maybe the new 3inch exhaust will make a difference?

To CAT or not to CAT... that be the question.

Righto... Just got off the phone to the Tuner... It appears as if the FPR was hooked up incorrectly.. Which also in turn, made it hard for me to start... Damaging the starter motor.. The upper diaphram is dead.. They asked who hooked it up... i said my mechanic...

Should i get him to pay for new FPR? It was around $260.
What about my starter motor? The tuner said the car wouldve been hard to start (which it was) and that was what burnt out my starter motor..
Could this have also put a lot of strain on the fuel pump causeing it to start to die?

This friggen mechanic... not only has it cost me triple what his quote was, but he f**ked up everything...

I have no problem paying triple what the original quote was. But i wouldve expected a much higher standard of work...

Opinions please?
