Take it to your local auto electrician and have it reconditioned, it would be much cheaper and easier to do. Not easy finding a new alternator.

Genuine GPX Alternator from mitsubishi, quotes start at $1500 to $1800...
Reco your old one and expect $400-$600...
Has to be done... unfortunately

Cost me $450 when I did it. That's for the reco, take out, put back in.

Had mine done (reco) by ALS Automotive Electrical in South Melb.
They did a top job and the price was pretty good too.

The only catch was I had to get mitzi chadstone to fit it.
Replacing the alt on the gpx is not exactally easy.... :?

i paid $250 for mine to be reconditioned, happened the day after I bought the car :S rotten luck, but at least it was a decent price ...

i got a brand new alternator from my local auto elec in Keilor rd North Niddrie cost me roughly $400 brand new with warranty !
