Climate Control Lights

Post by lwrida »

On the climate control unit are the row of switch which have *off, outside temp, on & up & down temp* ment to light up ?

If they are then mine arn't working, if anyone knows how to fix this, if it's just a fuse or its the lights themselves. I'd appricate the help

Cheers

yep they do light up...
you'll need new bulbs.. if it was a fuse they'd all go...

bulbs cost like $1 each

Your gonna have to remove the gear shifter suround but be very careful as it will most likely break if you remove it, once that is off take the 2 screws holding the centre bit of the dash which has the climate control out, then you should be able pull it out like 3-4 inches out just enough to remove the wires behide it, and then you should be able to get to the light bulbs.

As Bigpitty said, but you gotta get inside the climate control box to change em. 4 screws on the back of the console mounting to get the unit off the console itself, then another 4 screws holding the unit together. There are 4 tabs which lock the face panel to the box which you can lever open using a flat head screwdriver. Once you've done that you can open the unit a bit, but there's a ribbon cable connecting it all so it can't be taken off as such (You don't need to anyway). At this point you'll see 4 round black circles on the back of the circuit board with crosses in them, these are the globe holders. Use your flat head screwdriver to turn them and they'll come out. The globes simply pull out of the holders.
Tip to the wise- replace all of the globes at the same time, if one's gone, the others are not far off either. You don't want to have to do this over again in a months time

Still haven't got around to doing anything about this, but have since found out that if I flick that side of the climate control they light up :?

Possibly loose wire maybe?
