CMS

I can give you a CMS + hosting. Im in the process of going commercial with the CMS I have built. Complete FTO is one incarnation, there are others.....

Just send me a PM if you are interested in going down this path.

Helps pay the bills (or for mods for my FTO), so happy to accept that criticism. It also means that you get Complete FTO as a resource (which you may or may not use  ).

One day I might have time for a life! :D

Nice work dude, is there much of a market for supported CMS systems for small businesses? I mean what's to stop someone going Joomla? Or am I mis-reading the GPL or whatever its called wrong and they can't be used commercially.

No, youre not reading it wrong. Open Source is a valid option too. Couple of things with open source though:

        1. no support - no-one to call to fix a problem you may have

        2. A lot of small business owners are very technically inept. Take my parents for example. There is no way they could set one up, irrespective of how easy it is. They want someone to do it for them.

Ive got nothing against open source. I think its the way of the future. Having said that, I think there is currently a place for a solution that:

        - Is easy to set up and maintain
        - does not require any kind of server side registration
        - Is easy to reskin
        - Addresses specific business verticals

I have built my CMS so that there is a core module (Generic CMS) and addon modules that address specific business needs. Add on modules currently include:

        Nursery Module
        Parts Module (ala Complete FTO)
        Timesheeting Module
        Driver Training module

So, im trying to differentiate from other products and offer a more feature rich product at a cheaper price.

Anyways, enough of my soap box.

Dont know how ill go yet. Have a few sites lined up already (and a few in production).

A rebuild of Complete FTO is also in the list. Should release that in the next few weeks
