Hi i am just wondering what direction the harmonic balancer bolt unscrews. As previous Jap cars i have has are a left hand thread. Is this also the case with the fto?

The bolt should come out like normal, anti-clockwise, but it may be tight like mine, I put a breaker bar on it and had the handle on the ground and then just flick the key on, loosen it real good.

Yeah but my engine is already out amd seperated from the gearbox. I think i will buy a impact gun tomorrow. However i have replaced the camshaft seals, intake manifold gasket, new iriduim plugs, and have order a gates timing belt. New gearbox arrives tomorrow. Hopefully be ready for the weekend and time for cruising

Well it turns out that the fto is right hand thread. Whereas the supra was land hand thread. I fitted new timing belt, new cam seals, new slave cylinder kit, new alt belt, new pwr steer belt, reco alternator, new clutch, new pressure plate, new throw out bearing, new fuel filter, new tappet cover gasket, new iriduim plugs, new oil filter, and new engine and gearbox oil. Engine and gearbox are now ready to be fitted tomorrow. There has been no expense spared on this baby.
